A special soul-filled triple header of singer/songwriter/guitarists at the Old Church on the Hill, featuring: Josh Owen + Cameron James Henderson + Tim Hulsman. Doors open 7pm. Only $15 entry, tickets at the door.

About our artists:

Josh Owen:
“Josh’s effortless charm and fusion of jazzy, acoustic soul seamlessly merge sun-soaked Latin riffs and off-beat percussionistic playing with wistful emotive anthemic choruses” – Callum Fitzpatrick – Beat Magazine.
“Australia’s Segovia” – Ernest Ranglin.
Honed in the musical melting pot of Melbourne’s Brunswick Street, Josh’s modern day spin on spiritual soul, a melange of funk jazz soul and reggae, creates an upbeat and sensual urban soundscape that stretches the bounds of roots music.

Cameron James Henderson:
Highly regarded singer songwriter/guitarist Cameron James Henderson’s songs consist of lush harmonies, interwoven guitar textures and stomping grooves. Lyrically they evoke elements of Dylan, whilst musically the duo’s influences range from Ry Cooder, Muddy Waters and Mark Knopfler. Expect beautiful resonator slide combined with telecaster bite.

Tim Hulsman:
“Hard worn Folk Blues with a Rock’n’Roll attitude”
Tim Hulsman is a genre-defying songwriter and wizard on the lap steel guitar. His soul-drenched vocals, memorable melodies and unique roots/pop sensibility make every show a thrill, but it’s through his story-telling stage banter that he shines as a true entertainer.
Tim was the inaugural recipient of the Alex Legg Memorial Foundation Scholarship (2015 -16) for excellence in song writing, stagecraft and artistic vision.

The Old Church on the Hill is located on the corner of Harkness and Russell Streets, Quarry Hill, Bendigo.
The Singer/Songwriter Showcase events, staged there by the BB&RMF crew on a semi-regular basis, are an opportunity to enjoy a House Concert vibe in a public venue. The door charge is generally $15 for adults ($10 for Friends of the Festival members) and, although refreshments are available for sale, the focus is on THE MUSIC. Sound production is supplimented at the Old Church on the Hill by our friends at Muso’s Stuff Bendigo (facebook.com/Musos.Stuff) and 100% of the door takings are able to be shared between the performers with thanks to our valued sponsors at Kensey Care (facebook.com/KenseyCare).
