The Bendigo Blues & Roots crew are hosting two fan favourites on their April Blues Tram, Emilee South and Jarrod Shaw!

Enjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage W Class tram, while being serenaded by two great acts:

Emilee South:
With powerful vocals and fierce guitar playing, Emilee South hollers throwback rock’n’roll, with hints of voodoo, unrequited love, and small-town guilt.
Following her first release, ‘Aloha, Au Revoir’, Emilee has been touring as a two-piece, with baritone-slinging Matt Dixon.
The pair have been making interstate debuts with shows & festivals in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, as well as playing support to the likes of Ruby Boots, WILSN, Skyscraper Stan & The Commission Flats, and James Kenyon.
Back in Melbourne, they were straight in to the studio to record Emilee’s sophomore EP, ‘MOTEL’.
Recorded live over two days at The Aviary Recording Studio, ‘MOTEL’ features Matt Dixon on Baritone Guitar, Josh Barber on Drums and Ben Franz on Double Bass.
Producing a sound much darker, a little dirtier and a lot more rock’n’roll than her debut.
With a slew of special guest vocalists, such as Al Parkinson, Broads and Skyscraper Stan, the songs lay comfortably on a bed of velvet backing vocals.
Following the release of the feverish first single, ‘Howl’, ‘MOTEL’ was released with a bang through Fever Shake Records in May 2017.

Jarrod Shaw:
Jarrod Shaw possesses a passion and appreciation for blues music that becomes obvious from the moment the first note sounds. He delivers a soulful blues inspired show, performed with conviction.
Jarrod was born and raised in country Victoria, down the dirt roads of the Macedon Ranges. He taught himself to play guitar listening to the renowned blues greats, as well as the icons of the Australian and local Melbourne blues scene.
Performing countless solo gigs has aided Jarrod in developing a musical style of his own. He blends his unique guitar approach lying somewhere between piedmont fingerstyle and the blues of the delta, with a powerful voice often described as belying his years. At times he even wails away on a racked blues harp – all at once without missing a beat. If you close your eyes you might even believe there’s more than one person performing…
