The annual Bendigo Blues & Roots Winter Showcase/Fundraiser is being staged this Sunday, across three stages at the historic Hotel Shamrock. With solo and duo acts serenading music fans all day long at the Yard Bird Bar & Kitchen, Stage two will be keep patrons dancing in the ornate Federation Room, and there’s even a buskers’ stage exploding with spontaneous jams on the front pavement!

No less than 17 acts will be putting their best foot forward this Sunday 7 July in support of Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival, which takes place across 4 jam-packed days on the second weekend of November.

The BB&RMF crew have put together an amazing program for the Winter Showcase at the Shamrock with no less than 8 hours of live music kicking off from 12pm sharp.  The list of artists performing across the three stages includes some of the most impactful and engaging acts of the festival proper’s program, both local and visiting acts, such as: Electric Blues Collective (Melbourne); 40 Thieves (Croydon); Orange Whip (Ararat); Slap Back Jack & The Magic 8-Balls; Nardia (Melbourne); Daniel Aaron; Jarrod Shaw (Melbourne); Sarah Wilkinson; The Flannos; Spiritus (Gembrook); Rhyley McGrath; JadeByrd; Funk Junkies; Andy Garlilck; Deus Sax; Honk Tank; and the already accomplished Bendigo South East College Stage Band featuring a large number of Bendigo’s finest young aspiring musicians.

Organisers suggest you should expect a “New Orleansy vibe” upon arrival at the Shamrock on July 7th, especially with the music spilling out onto the street, with horn sections and percussion aplenty. With an entry fee of only $20 for 8 hours of entertainment from some of Victoria’s best Blues & Roots artists, it’ll clearly be money well spent… AND you’ll be supporting Central Victoria’s biggest and best home-grown music festival, providing opportunities to artists, sharing great music with the community at large, through our generous local venues, both big and small, throughout the year – not just on the second weekend of November.

Before the always amazing Nardia Brancatisano* takes the stage in the Federation Room this Sunday, with her talent-packed band in tow, she will be performing a warm-up show on Saturday evening at Bendigo’s only dedicated live music venue Entrée Music Bar (54 McIvor Road).  Entry is free and fans of jazz, blues, soul and funk should definitely get in for a sneak preview of one of Victoria’s best young blues divas along with her top-class accompanists.  Nardia’s show at the McIvor Road venue kicks off at 8pm this Saturday evening 6 July – the perfect entrée to a musical smorgasbord being staged on Sunday at the Shamrock.
